Susana Lau is an Electronics and Telecommunications engineer with a Master's degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University, obtained thanks to a Fulbright-Senacyt scholarship. With more than ten years of experience in IT projects, both in Panamanian companies and in a Silicon Valley startup, she founded EtyaLab in 2015, a technology company that offers web and mobile solutions, leading more than 60 projects for more than 40 clients. Recognized as one of Forbes' Powerful Women in Central America and the Dominican Republic in 2020, 2021 and 2023, Susana is an advocate for female empowerment in technology. She chairs the Panama Section of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the largest technical organization in the world) for the period 2023-2024 and previously led WIE (Women in Engineering) Panama, significantly impacting STEM and entrepreneurship education, and receiving multiple awards for her contributions. In 2021, Susana co-founded the CREEA Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on educational projects. As a board member, she also sits on the boards of a bank and an insurance company, contributing to technology, audit, risk and ethics committees.
