
Ambassador of Israel to Panama
H.E. Itai Bardov is the Ambassador of Israel to Panama and Non-Resident Ambassador to Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and CARICOM. He joined the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April 2006.
In July 2021, he became the Ambassador of Israel to Panama, with additional non-residential responsibilities for Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and CARICOM.
From 2018 to 2021, he served as Director of the Israeli Consulates in the USA Department at the North American Bureau in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 2016 and 2018, he was the Spokesperson for the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. From 2014 to 2016, he served as Counselor for Political Affairs at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, USA.
In 2013-2014, Bardov was Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Cadet Course, and from 2012 to 2013, he worked in the Palestinian Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters. From 2009 to 2012, he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Israeli Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia. Between 2007 and 2009, he headed the Political Department at the Israeli Embassy in Amman, Jordan.
Bardov holds an undergraduate degree in political science and international relations from the Open University of Israel and a Master’s degree in business administration from the Ono Academic College. He served as a major in the IDF, specializing in the Artillery Corps and the Israeli Border Police. He is married to Sarit and is the father of three children. Bardov speaks Hebrew, English, and Spanish, and also has a moderate knowledge of Arabic.
